Apart from the capital Bangkok, Phuket is probably the easiest place to get to in Thailand.

Phuket International Airport has direct flights from all over the world and domestically flights are very cheap from Bangkok, as little as $25-$30 one way.

Travelling overland, from Bangkok there are regular V.I.P bus services as well as rail services down to Surat Thani.
