AROUND THE ISLAND....

If you take the time to drag yourself away from the beach, Phuket has some excellent spots to escape the crowds.

The centre has artisans weaving silk, manufacturing lacquerware, silverware, jewellery and parasols.

ORCHID GARDEN & THAI VILLAGE
In the village there are cultural performance shows giving a good feel of the Thai way of life with folk dances, Thai boxing, the unique aspects of Phuket, a handicraft center and an orchid farm. The show is presented 2 times a day at 11am and again at 5.30pm.

CROCODILE FARM
Just outside Phuket town, containing an aquarium, estuarine crocodiles and alligators.

WAT CHALONG TEMPLE
This monastery houses bronze images of the monks Luang Pho Chaem and Luang Pho Chuang, who are highly respected by Phuket inhabitants. Luang Pho Chaem is famed for his part in quelling a rebellion by Chinese mine workers who tried to occupy Phuket during the reign of King Rama V.

KHAO PHRA WILDLIFE PARK
This excellent park has numerous birds, wild boars and monkeys to enhance botanical beauty. There is also a beautiful waterfall called Nam Tok Ton Sai.
